Pascal Kaufmann The future of human intelligence – the symbiosis of man and machine

The ETH alumnus and neuroscientist Pascal Kaufmann, founder and visionary of Starmind, speaks about “The future of human intelligence – the symbiosis of man and machine”. Kaufmann is behind the Swiss Mindfire programme, which is aimed at creating human-like artificial intelligence and expanding the horizons of the unknown. With a fascination for robots, cyborgs, artificial intelligence and brain research, this AI technology entrepreneur researched the interface between living brains and robots at the Chicago Medical School in the USA, which is also where he developed his vision “thinking simultaneously with 1,000 brains”. Kaufmann says we should strive for a world in which machines do our work and release us from unnecessary and burdensome tasks so we can take our own destiny into our hands.
