Prof. Dr Raghav Rao Digital payments and financial inclusion: issues and challenges
Digital / Mobile payments hold promises of greater financial inclusion. Demonetization of cash in India in 2016 pushed adoption of mobile payments. We briefly discuss payment methods, and then identify the influencers or barriers to continued usage of mobile payment technology in the Indian context, post-demonetization. This could have implications for society in other emerging economies.

Professor Rao is AT&T Chair Professor of ISCS at the University of Texas at San Antonio. He has published over 200 technical papers. He has worked in the areas of information systems, emergency management and humanitarian relief and cybersecurity. He was a Fulbright scholar and Distinguished Visiting Professor at UTS, Sydney, Australia and Sogang University, Seoul, South Korea.
